1962 was the second year of the new, brilliantly styled Continental, replacing the chrome laden excess of the previous model with exquisite uncluttered simplicity and bold, dramatic styling. The convertible revived the 4 door configuration of the classic convertible sedans of the '30s.

-----Although this configuration is often referred to as "suicide doors" (rear doors hinged at the back), there is no evidence that anyone has ever leapt from the rear seats of this car!! However, it may be noted that President John F. Kennedy was killed in a similar vehicle. (Not mine!!)
